Step 1: Registration and application for admission to a degree programme

Register via u:space and activate your u:account, which you will use throughout your entire degree programme. Log in to u:space and upload each of the required documents as one single pdf-file. Documents with more pages need to be uploaded as one PDF-file. Then click "Pay and submit". Pay the examination fee of Euro 50 via credit card or eps online payment (only possible if you have an Austrian bank account).

As soon as the status of your application is “submitted” in u:space under "My applications" the application has reached the University of Vienna and you are registered to participate in the entrance examination. This status does not change anymore!

You will receive a confirmation of registration via e-mail. You will receive further information necessary for the entrance examination at the e-mail address saved in your u:space registration. Please check the spam folder of your mailbox frequently and add the e-mail address of the University of Vienna to your address book, so you do not miss any important information.

Continue wih the remaining steps of the entrance examination.

Step 2: Online-Self-Assessment (OSA)

As soon as you have registered for the entrance examination you will receive the data to access the OSA via e-mail. No matter how many times you do the OSA, you only receive the one access code. You can also find it also in u:space directly in the summary of your application.

The OSA is the first step of the entrance procedure and needs to be completed online. It serves the purpose of assessing for yourself the choice of study programme. You do not need to prepare for it and will not be graded.

We recommend doing the OSA immediately after the registration. The full and timely completion of the OSA within the set period is a prerequisite to participate in the second part of the entrance examination, which is the written test.

Step 3: The written examination

At least 14 days before the entrance examination you will find a personal invitation in the summary of your application in u:space. Without this invitation letter you may not participate in the written entrance exam.

Please save the whole day for the test and if you come from abroad travel at least the day before.

Details about the entrance exam and the required literature will be announced in time.

The pure working time for the exam will be 2.0 hours.

At the end of the exam you will be informed about the further steps. The results will be sent via e-mail.
