Master programmes with special admission requirements

For the following master programmes of the University of Vienna special admission requirements apply:

Application period for the academic year 2019/20: 1 March until 30 April 2019

Application for admission to a master programme with special admission requirements

 Required documents

You need (regardless of your citizenship or the country of issuance of your degree)

as a JPEG or PNG file:

  • your passport or personal ID card (front and back)

as separate PDF files:

  • Your bachelor certificate and your transcripts
  • A translation by a court-sworn translator of the above mentioned documents (if not issued in English or German)
  • Curriculum vitae (not required for the master programme Psychology)
  • Statement of purpose (not required for the master programme Psychology)
  • Proof of German proficiency or English proficiency and any further requirements prescribed by the curriculum of the degree programme of your choice
  • Proof of German proficiency at level A2 (if you apply for the master programme Psychology) 


Application period for the academic year 2019/20:

  • 1 March until 30 April 2019

Admission period for the academic year 2019/20:

  • winter semester 2019: 11 July until 30 November 2019
  • summer semester 2020: to be announced

 Semester start

  • winter semester: 1 October
  • summer semester: 1 März

Schedule of the academic year

The application to any of these degree programmes is done in u:space and is possible only once a year within the application period.

Between 30 and 50 study places are available per year, depending on the degree programme of your choice. The allocation of available places is carried out by the selection panel.

Even if an application includes documents from non-EU/EEA countries, no legalisation and no proof of special university entrance qualification are needed.
