Entrance examination Mass Media and Communication Science

  • The registration period for the entrance examination for the academic year 2018/19 is over. The deadlines for the next entrance examination will be announced in spring 2019!


The admission to this programme is possible only if you successfully participate in the entrance examination and fulfil all requirements for admission to a bachelor programme at the University of Vienna.

If you do not have proficiency in German at level B2 or higher, please read the information about proficieny in German and about the entrance procedure carefully.

In the personal enrolment for the degree programme you then have to prove German proficiency at C1 level (or higher).

The entrance procedure at a glance

  • Completion of Online-Self-Assessment: 3 April until 31 July 2018
  • Entrance exam: does not take place

  • Personal enrolment: for registered persons until 5 September 2018  

The registration for the entrance examination 2019/20 will be possible in spring 2019!

The written entrance exam does not take place

As fewer prospective students have registered for the entrance examamination of the academic year 2018/19, the written exam does not take place. All registered persons who fulfil the requirements for the admission to a bachelor degree programme at the University of Vienna AND have registered for the entrance examination until 16 July 2018, can be admitted.

It is not necessary to finish the Online-Self-Assessment (OSA).
